The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in collaboration with the Institute of Marine Affairs (IMA), Ministry of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development of Trinidad and Tobago and the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) Subregional Headquarters for the Caribbean is organizing a seminar on ocean-based climate action in the Caribbean.

This seminar aims to facilitate a regional dialogue for in-depth discussion, knowledge exchange, and networking that will propel people in the Caribbean toward a more sustainable future. The expected outcomes of this seminar are as follows:

·         Enhanced Regional Cooperation: Further strengthen partnerships to advance climate-related initiatives for sustainable ocean resource management.

·         Knowledge Exchange and Capacity Building: Participants will share knowledge, experiences, and best practices related to the blue economy, technological advancements, and effective marine conservation practices.

·         Identification of SIDS appropriate Sustainable solutions: The seminar will seek to identify concrete, sustainable solutions, including climate action strategies, for the challenges facing the ocean and ocean resource management in the Caribbean SIDS region.
