La primera reunión de la Conferencia de las Partes del Acuerdo Regional sobre el Acceso a la Información, la Participación Pública y el Acceso a la Justicia en Asuntos Ambientales en América Latina y el Caribe (Acuerdo de Escazú) tendrá lugar entre el 20 y 22 de abril de 2022 en formato híbrido. Se espera que los Estados Parte (jefe/jefa de delegación + 2) y los representantes electos del público puedan participar en forma presencial en la sede de la CEPAL en Santiago. Debido al aforo exigido por las autoridades sanitarias para prevenir contagios de COVID-19, habrá cupos limitados para países observadores y otros participantes del público de acuerdo con las reglas vigentes. Se facilitará plataforma virtual para quienes no puedan participar en forma presencial y la reunión será transmitida por webstreaming (http://live.cepal.org/escazu). En la Reunión se discutirán los temas a tratar establecidos en los artículos 14, 15 y 18 del Acuerdo y otros asuntos relevantes.
The first meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Regional Agreement on Access to Information, Public Participation and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters in Latin America and the Caribbean (Escazú Agreement) will take place between 20 and 22 April 2022 in hybrid format. It is expected that the States Parties (head of delegation + 2) and the elected representatives of the public participate in person at ECLAC headquarters in Santiago. Due to requirements from the local health authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19, there will be limited space for observer countries and other participants from the public, according to the rules in place at the time of the meeting. A virtual platform will be provided for those who cannot participate in person and the meeting will be broadcast via webstreaming (http://live.cepal.org/escazu). The Meeting will address the topics established in articles 14, 15 and 18 of the Agreement as well as other relevant matters.
