Effective legislation to enhance climate finance in Caribbean SIDS

This event is the first OPCC activity dedicated to Caribbean participants. It will both explore the potential of the initiative as a network-building and knowledge-sharing platform, and as a data and information dissemination resource for participants from the region.

The objectives of this event are:

• Learn and debate how participants can utilize the OPCC’s tools and resources to bolster Caribbean environmental and climate change legislation.
• Showcase how the OPCC Legislative Data Platform can help give visibility and international recognition to Caribbean legislation.
• Identify what are the legislative priorities in the subregion in relation to the environment and climate change.
• Present the OPCC’s proposal for a side event at the SIDS4 and hear participants’ views on how new or improved climate change and environmental legislation can support climate finance in the Caribbean.
